17.56.قُلِ ادْعُواْ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِهِ فَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنكُمْ وَلاَ تَحْوِيلاً

17.56 . Say : Cry unto those ( saints and angels ) whom ye assume ( to be gods ) beside Him , yet they have no power to rid you of misfortune nor to change .

17.56. Quli odAAu allatheena zaAAamtum min doonihi fala yamlikoona kashfa alddurri AAankum wala tahweelan

17.56. " Di: ""¡Invocad a los que, en lugar de Él, pretendéis! ¡No pueden evitaros la desgracia ni modificarla!"" "

17.57.أُولَـئِكَ الَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ يَبْتَغُونَ إِلَى رَبِّهِمُ الْوَسِيلَةَ أَيُّهُمْ أَقْرَبُ وَيَرْجُونَ رَحْمَتَهُ وَيَخَافُونَ عَذَابَهُ إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ كَانَ مَحْذُوراً

17.57 . Those unto whom they cry seek the way of approach to their Lord , which of them shall be the nearest ; they hope for His mercy and they fear His doom . Lo! the doom of thy Lord is to be shunned .

17.57. Ola-ika allatheena yadAAoona yabtaghoona ila rabbihimu alwaseelata ayyuhum aqrabu wayarjoona rahmatahu wayakhafoona AAathabahu inna AAathaba rabbika kana mahthooran

17.57. Los mismos a quienes invocan buscan el medio de acercarse a su Señor. Esperan en Su misericordia y temen Su castigo. El castigo de tu Señor es temible.

17.58.وَإِن مَّن قَرْيَةٍ إِلاَّ نَحْنُ مُهْلِكُوهَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُوهَا عَذَاباً شَدِيداً كَانَ ذَلِك فِي الْكِتَابِ مَسْطُوراً

17.58 . There is not a township but We shall destroy it ere the Day of Resurrection , or punish it with dire punishment . That is set forth in the Book ( of Our decrees ) .

17.58. Wa-in min qaryatin illa nahnu muhlikooha qabla yawmi alqiyamati aw muAAaththibooha AAathaban shadeedan kana thalika fee alkitabi mastooran

17.58. No hay ninguna ciudad que no destruyamos o que no castiguemos severamente antes del día de la Resurreción. Está anotado en la Escritura.

17.59.وَمَا مَنَعَنَا أَن نُّرْسِلَ بِالآيَاتِ إِلاَّ أَن كَذَّبَ بِهَا الأَوَّلُونَ وَآتَيْنَا ثَمُودَ النَّاقَةَ مُبْصِرَةً فَظَلَمُواْ بِهَا وَمَا نُرْسِلُ بِالآيَاتِ إِلاَّ تَخْوِيفاً

17.59 . Naught hindereth Us from sending portents save that the folk of old denied them . And We gave Thamud the she camel a clear portent but they did wrong in respect of her . We send not portents save to warn .

17.59. Wama manaAAana an nursila bial-ayati illa an kaththaba biha al-awwaloona waatayna thamooda alnnaqata mubsiratan fathalamoo biha wama nursilu bial-ayati illa takhweefan

17.59. No Nos ha impedido obrar milagros sino que los antiguos los desmintieran. Dimos la camella a los tamudeos como milagro palpable, pero obraron impíamente con ella. No obramos los milagros sino para atemorizar.

17.60.وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لَكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ أَحَاطَ بِالنَّاسِ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلاَّ فِتْنَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَالشَّجَرَةَ الْمَلْعُونَةَ فِي القُرْآنِ وَنُخَوِّفُهُمْ فَمَا يَزِيدُهُمْ إِلاَّ طُغْيَاناً كَبِيراً

17.60 . And ( it was a warning ) when We told thee : Lo! thy Lord encompasseth mankind , and We appointed the vision which We showed thee as an ordeal for mankind , and ( likewise ) the Accursed Tree in the Quran . We warn them , but it increaseth them in naught save gross impiety .

17.60. Wa-ith qulna laka inna rabbaka ahata bialnnasi wama jaAAalna alrru/ya allatee araynaka illa fitnatan lilnnasi waalshshajarata almalAAoonata fee alqur-ani wanukhawwifuhum fama yazeeduhum illa tughyanan kabeeran

17.60. " Y cuando te dijimos: ""Tu Señor cerca a los hombres"". No hicimos del sueño que te mostramos y del árbol maldito mencionado en el Corán sino tentación para los hombres. Cuanto más les amedrentamos, más aumenta su rebeldía. "
