40.81.وَيُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ فَأَيَّ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُنكِرُونَ

40.81 . And He showeth you His tokens . Which , then , of the tokens of Allah do ye deny?

40.81. Wayureekum ayatihi faayya ayati Allahi tunkiroona

40.81. Él os hace ver Sus signos. ¿Cuál, pues, de los signos de Alá negaréis?

40.82.أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَاراً فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

40.82 . Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those before them? They were more numerous than these , and mightier in power and ( in the ) traces ( which they left behind them ) in the earth . But all that they used to earn availed them not .

40.82. Afalam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim kanoo akthara minhum waashadda quwwatan waatharan fee al-ardi fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona

40.82. ¿No han ido por la tierra y mirado cómo terminaron sus antecesores? Fueron más numerosos que ellos, más poderosos, dejaron más huellas en la tierra, pero sus posesiones no les sirvieron de nada.

40.83.فَلَمَّا جَاءتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرِحُوا بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون

40.83 . And when their messengers brought them clear proofs ( of Allah ' s Sovereignty ) they exulted in the knowledge they ( themselves ) possessed . And that which they were wont to mock befell them .

40.83. Falamma jaat-hum rusuluhum bialbayyinati farihoo bima AAindahum mina alAAilmi wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona

40.83. Cuando sus enviados vinieron a ellos con las pruebas claras, se alegraron de la ciencia que poseían, pero se vieron cercados por aquello de que se burlaban.

40.84.فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِ مُشْرِكِينَ

40.84 . Then , when they saw Our doom , they said : We believe in Allah only and reject ( all ) that we used to associate ( with Him ) .

40.84. Falamma raaw ba/sana qaloo amanna biAllahi wahdahu wakafarna bima kunna bihi mushrikeena

40.84. " Y, cuando vieron Nuestro rigor, dijeron: ""¡Creemos en Alá Solo y renegamos de lo que Le asociábamos!"" "

40.85.فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنفَعُهُمْ إِيمَانُهُمْ لَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا سُنَّتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ فِي عِبَادِهِ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْكَافِرُونَ

40.85 . But their faith could not avail them when they saw Our doom . This is Allah ' s law which hath ever taken course for his Bondsmen . And then the disbelievers will be ruined .

40.85. Falam yaku yanfaAAuhum eemanuhum lamma raaw ba/sana sunnata Allahi allatee qad khalat fee AAibadihi wakhasira hunalika alkafiroona

40.85. Pero, entonces, su fe no les sirvió de nada, después de haber visto Nuestro rigor. Tal es la práctica de Alá, que ya se había aplicado a Sus siervos. Y entonces salieron perdiendo los infieles.
