How Important is it To Study the Qur'an in Arabic, is it sufficient to depend on translations?
This part is taken from lecture:
The Prohibition of Riba in The Qur'an & Sunnah
28 June 2011/ 26 Rajab 1432H
Part of world renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Imran Nazar Hosein's Malaysia Lecture Tour.

"My answer is, If you depend on translations, you can be taken for a ride. The most dangerous translations of the Qur'an in the world today are those in English and European languages.
The best translations that you can find are the translations in the languages which belong to our civilization. i. e. Farsi, Urdu...

One more warning... The Imam is reciting the Qur'an in Salat, when the Salat is over someone asks you. 'What did he (the Imam) say? You replay and say, 'I don't know; but it was a nice tune. I liked the tune.'

If you remain like that, you are disrespecting the the word of Allah. And whoever disrespects the word of Allah, is disrespecting Allah."
