Travel revenues in Morocco surge to 45.1 billion dirhams in early 2025

Travel revenues surpassed 45.1 billion dirhams during the first five months of 2025, according to the latest bulletin from the Foreign Exchange Office on monthly foreign trade indicators. This represents an 8.5% increase, or 3.5 billion dirhams more, compared to the same period in 2024, the Office reports.

Travel expenses reached 13.3 billion dirhams, rising 7.3% year-on-year, according to the same source. As a result, the travel balance surplus exceeded 31.8 billion dirhams by the end of May, marking a 9% improvement compared to May 2024.

The Foreign Exchange Office also notes that money transfers from Moroccans living abroad (MRE) totaled 45.6 billion dirhams, down 2.8% from 46.9 billion dirhams in the previous year.
