Morocco's Salaheddine Ben Yazide takes silver in 3000m steeplechase at Paris Diamond League

Moroccan athlete Salaheddine Ben Yazide claimed second place in the 3000m steeplechase on Friday at the Paris Meeting, part of the Diamond League.

Ben Yazide recorded a time of 8:11.68, finishing behind Ethiopian Lamecha Girma, the world record holder, who won the race in 8:07.01. Third place went to fellow Ethiopian Getnet Wale, who clocked 8:12.58. Another Moroccan, Mohamed Tindouft, finished just off the podium in fourth place with a time of 8:15.32.

In the 5000m race, Moroccan double world and Olympic champion Soufiane El Bakkali finished sixth.
