The first edition of the Africa Day Festival was held on Saturday, June 14, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Organized by the Moroccan Consulate in partnership with the city hall and Casa África, the event was led by Morocco and brought together representatives from several sub-Saharan African countries, including Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal, Gambia, and Guinea Conakry.
The program featured fashion shows, painting and photography exhibitions, tastings of African culinary specialties, and live musical performances.
For Fatiha El Kamouri, Consul General of Morocco in Las Palmas, the festival marked an important moment of connection among African communities in the Canary Islands. In a statement, she highlighted Morocco’s strong commitment to solidarity, peace, and coexistence in the archipelago.
