A prisoner was found dead in his cell at the Biberbrugg prison in the Swiss canton of Schwyz on Sunday morning, according to a statement released by cantonal police on Monday.
The deceased was identified as a 22-year-old Moroccan man. Authorities were alerted shortly after 7:30 a.m. Despite the swift response of the medical team, efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The exact circumstances of his death are currently under investigation by the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Zurich. However, initial findings indicate no signs of foul play or involvement of a third party.
