The Moroccan under-20 football team has booked its place in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) after a 1-0 victory over Egypt on Thursday at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo.
The decisive goal came in the 77th minute, scored by Jones El-Abdellaoui. Led by coach Mohamed Ouahbi, the Moroccan squad will now face South Africa in the final. The South Africans secured their spot after a 1-0 win over Nigeria in Ismailia, with Tylon Christopher Smith netting the winner in the 66th minute.
All four semi-finalists - Morocco, Egypt, South Africa, and Nigeria - have qualified for the U20 World Cup, which will be held in Chile from September 27 to October 19.
